On 3 September 2026, GMB’s Uber noticeboard published its position on autonomous vehicles, arguing that deployment should be accompanied by a “just transition” for private-hire drivers and by answers on safety and livelihoods. Separately, Evri and GMB announced a proposed two-year courier agreement in September that includes a minimum equivalent hourly-rate guarantee for eligible couriers, subject to the deal and individual eligibility.
